Here I go again blogging about two days at once.
My most memorable firework story was when I was dating my husband, probably about 9 or 10 years ago, and he and his two brothers were shooting off fireworks in his parent’s front yard.
I grew up in a household where my parents were extremely safety conscious so they NEVER let us have fireworks or sparklers or anything. I even remember hearing horror stories about candles. Lol. So, I was pretty scared that my boyfriend at the time and his brothers were going to blow themselves up and that would be the end of our amazing relationship.
Well, most of you have probably set off a firework or two in your day so you know how it goes. The fireworks were going off beautifully from what I could see standing farther away than everyone else when all of a sudden….!!!!! one of the firework-shooting-off-tubes (I don’t even know the name for it) tipped over towards us and the house! A large flower of sparkly flames erupted against the house as everyone was running hither and yon. Thankfully nobody got hurt. But that was definitely the most memorable firework experience to date.
Three Favorite songs?
The first one the comes to mind is Hey There Delilah by Plain White T’s. It’s “Our Song.” My husband, Matthew, would sing it to me with with my name instead of Delilah. He’s so romantic. 🙂
The second would be No Longer Slaves by Bethel. This song speaks to me. I would love to go to a church where this is how they did their worship music.
The last song? Hmmmmm….. I’ll leave you with this one. White Winter Hymn covered by Birdy. There is something about this melody that gets stuck in my head all day.
